Rats and mice live in the margins of the empires of dogs and cats, with homes that connect to the Underneath — a vast collection of warrens, tunnels, caves, and other hidden places. It is a dangerous place full of unexplained phenomena and terrifying creatures. But it is also full of wonders of ages past and the thrill of discovery. For the rodents believe Man was part of something called Science, a way to learn power through study, observation, and experimentation. Perhaps through the exploration of the Underneath, they can rediscover what Man has left behind. It’s time to listen to the squeaks in the deep.
Squeaks in the Deep is a chronicle sourcebook for both Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau. It’s usable with either game, or as part of a joint experience. Some highlights include:
Two new species for players to portray: rats and mice
Six new rodent callings
Psionic rules
Information on the Underneath, as well as a variety of new enemies
“Confluence of Cults,” an adventure featuring the Underneath with both Pugmire and Monarchies starting points
Squeaks in the Deep offers a new, bold canvas for your Pugmire and Monarchies of Mau games: the Underneath. This vast world of natural caverns, abandoned tunnels, and forgotten facilities offer enticing adventures to draw in heroes of all kinds. The Underneath holds treasures long lost by Man. It also holds unusual creatures with evolved intelligence like dogs and cats, but who changed in unexpected ways. For all the ways the surface world tried to reclaim what Man left behind, the Underneath twists and turns away from the expected for those who map the depths.
The Underneath provides Guides with a chance to embrace weirdness in their chronicle. It’s been a long time since Man left this world behind, and there are plenty of things left unchecked and unexplained. Was Man responsible for these uncanny places? Or were these the forces that drove Man into the mists of history? The answer is ultimately up to the Guide, but this book provides some fantastic left turns and roller coaster drops they can use to surprise their table.
2020 Year End Update

Ahoy me hearties,
I've been sending out a lot of these year end updates over the past week, but this is the only one that had a major victory in 2020! Looking at our kickstarter campaign page, you will note that the estimated delivery date for our hardcover rewards was February 2021, and I can now confirm that our final dozen Pirates of Pugmire rewards for international backers are picked, packed, and awaiting pickup by the courier to begin their final journey.
By the end of the day today, all books will have shipped and all should deliver before our projected date. There haven't been many victories in 2020, but I'm very happy that we had this one.
Yar. I'm wearing my eyepatch incorrectly.
This year has obviously been full of unexpected challenges and difficult times. I know the Onyx Path team and writers were hit hard by the chaotic and shifting nature of the year, and plans and projects had to be shuffled around as situations and solutions were figured out. Projects that were expected to be completed or nearing completion were sometimes delayed, sometimes rescheduled, but never abandoned. I'm hoping 2021 is a much more manageable time, and looking forward to the results of the hard work of the Onyx Path team in keeping the machine running as best they could during this weird year.

That's it! With the final international shipments going out, we have completed all of the projects funded by this campaign! I will still be in touch in January 2021 to follow up on those final deliveries and double check that all issues have been sorted and any problems dealt with, but we've got smooth sailing from here on out! ONYX PATH ON KICKSTARTER IN 2020
To say this year was challenging would be an understatement. Despite difficult, uncertainty, and demanding situations, the Onyx Path team continued to work on the great projects that have made us fans. It wasn't easy - schedules shifted, delays managed, and difficulties dealt with - but here we are at the end of 2020 and, despite the chaos, there are some victories to show!
Kickstarter continues to be an important part of the process for Onyx Path, and looking at the long list of projects in the works on the Monday Meeting Notes blog, it certainly looks like that’ll continue to be the case in 2021.
Rather than just take pre-order for an upcoming project, Kickstarter has allowed Onyx Path to gauge interest in game lines (to see if they should develop additional projects beyond those offered during the campaign), and sometimes even add additional projects to a game line immediately via Stretch Goal achievements. More importantly, it’s a chance to interact with the community and for everyone to get involved from the earliest stages.
Looking at 2020, Onyx Path had 7 Kickstarter campaigns funded, with one more currently on the go!
And, though the campaign still has a few hours to go, the recent DeadMan's Rust mega-adventure and setting supplement for ScarredLands 5th Edition has funded, which means it will get added to the list soon!

November 2020 Update - Shipping Info

Ahoy me hearties,
I hope you're all keeping safe and managing as best you can during this difficult year. I don't have many more updates for you, but since we're in the final full week of November, let's sneak one in...
This is actually 2019 James. To get to 2020 James, add more gray hair and subtract 10 months of any real physical activity.
As detailed in last month's update, we're in the end stages of shipping the final rewards. Many of you have received tracking information, some have already received your books! But there are still a bunch of pledges still to go. Our fulfillment partners are still safely working through the remaining orders, with hopes that everything will be out over the next 2-3 weeks.
TRACKING INFORMATION
Normally, US backers would start seeing deliveries a week or two after the orders have left the warehouse, but the strain on delivery infrastructure during this pandemic has a cascading effect that's just slowing all processes down. That's also affecting tracking updates - but, I'm told, information should catch up as packages move through the system. You may end up receiving your book before your tracking status gets updated, but the good news is that, eventually, everything should be delivered and confirmed.
As the orders ship, you will (*should*) get an e-mail with Tracking Information.
Once the orders ship, the fulfillment team is able to take the Tracking information and load it into the BackerKit Pledge Manager system. Your tracking information may take 2-5 days to update at any given time, so you may see "Pre-Shipment" as it filters out to the various shipping agencies, but it should update as it travels and eventually delivers to you.
Again: You'll have your tracking numbers sent via the e-mail provided to Backerkit, and shortly thereafter, you will also be able to access your Tracking number in Backerkit by reviewing your Order Confirmation.
Your BackerKit Confirmation page has:
1 - Your Reward Tier
2 - Your BackerKit e-mail
3 - the TRACKING NUMBER for your shipment (once it's been uploaded)
4 - Your confirmed shipping address
5 - A link to your digital redemption codes

DEAD MAN'S RUST - a SCARRED LANDS 5E CAMPAIGN
At the Night of Chronicles in the city of Leoni, the adventurers enjoy a wild revel. Opportunity arises when the aging bard Dradoki Bronzeleaf hires the party to escort him to the Broadreach Horizon. The perilous voyage takes the group through titanspawn infested lands, but should they survive, they arrive at the last bastion of uncorrupted wood in the Hornsaw Forest. There they meet the clans of the Broadreach elves and a century of hollow legionnaires dispatched to the Forest of Blood to offer aid and friendship.
But a dark shadow looms over the accursed wood. The necromancers of Glivid-Autel sew corruption and death throughout the Hornsaw Forest. Legionnaires, elves, and dwarves go missing. A horrific infection appears, seemingly targeting the legionnaires. The adventurers are called on to stand against these foul machinations that threaten peace, prosperity, and life itself across central Ghelspad. They may find allies in the Broadreach Horizon, the Gleaming Valley, and perhaps even the bloody canopies of the Hornsaw Forest, if they are brave enough to answer the call to adventure!
Dead Man’s Rust contains:
A complete campaign taking characters from level 1 to 10
Detailed write-ups of four major locations in central Ghelspad: the Broadreach Horizon, The Gleaming Valley, the Hornsaw Forest, and the necromancer’s stronghold of Glivid-Autel.
New playable options including races, subraces, and subclasses
New monsters, magic items, and more!
Like we've done with many of the Onyx Path kickstarter campaigns over the past few years, we'll be previewing the ENTIRE manuscript over the course of the campaign, so if you jump on you'll be able to read every word of the manuscript before the campaign concludes in a month!

October 2020 Update

Ahoy me hearties,
A quick update this month, just the heads up that we're about to start the final phase of the fulfillment process, and our books will be shipping out before the end of the year!
Ahoy!
After delays and rescheduling and lots and lots of e-mails, we've got our Q4 fulfillment schedule worked out. Mostly worked out. Mostly.
Backer shipments for the hardcover books, screens and dice will be picked, packed, and shipped over the next 8 weeks.
Orders will be processed in waves, based on items and shipping location. Our fulfillment partner usually gets the biggest slices of the pie out first - to keep things moving in the warehouse and ensure they're able to maintain workplace safety restrictions and guidelines. So, that usually means that single hardcover books in the US will likely go first, followed by multiple item shipments within the US, and then a similar process for Canada and Mexico, and so on...
Since our shipments to the EU and other ports require more precise paperwork, it's not a bad thing to give the extra time to those shipments, but it does mean that they're usually in the later stages of the process.
BUT, everything should be shipping over the next 2-8 weeks! It's going out! It'll be on the way to the address you have confirmed in BackerKit, and I expect most packages to deliver in December, with some of the more complicated orders maybe delivering in the new year. All should land before our projected February 2021 delivery date! Fingers crossed!
You may receive information on tracking numbers over the next month. Generating tracking numbers is part of the pick and pack process, so some backers may get tracking information before the item has shipped. Good information to have, but don't panic if you don't see movement on your order for a few weeks - the information is just ahead of schedule.
I will have an update later in November with information on tracking, so if you don't get a tracking number early, I'll show you how to find it in BackerKit, and I'll send them all out again as shipments go out.
Again, shipments will be going out over the next 8 weeks. I will explain how to track your order later in November, when most shipments are in transit.
If you need to adjust any shipping information, please contact me immediately, and I'll see if I can make any changes before your package is picked up. Everything we have has been loaded up into our fulfillment system, so I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to re-route, but we'll do the best we can.

September 2020 Update

Ahoy me hearties,
2020 has been full of rough seas, that's for true. That said, our voyage is going well and I do believe we'll pull in to port ahead of schedule!
The non-pirate translation: we've got the final piece in our reward puzzle printed and it's being shipped to our fulfillment partner so we'll be able to ship out Pirates of Pugmire this quarter!

The estimated delivery date for this project, listed way back when we launched this campaign, was February 2021. We're looking like we'll be shipping before the end of this year. We've completed our lockdown steps, and the final reward to print - the Pirates of Pugmire Guide Screen - is in transit to the warehouse.
